What is RF Microneedling?
Facial blemishes can be the root of insecurity for many. RF microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat a variety of concerns, such as wrinkles, large pores, and lax skin. Adding radiofrequency energy to the traditional microneedling procedure triggers the increased natural production of collagen. This, in turn, leads to tighter, younger-looking skin. Call Titan Medical Aesthetics to discuss the details with our experienced team before scheduling an appointment at our office in Newburyport, MA.

Am I an Ideal Candidate for RF Microneedling?
This procedure works best on patients intending to reduce the appearance of minor imperfections of the skin. This can include a wide range of issues, including uneven skin tone or texture, fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, scarring, and sagging skin. Additionally, unlike some other skin treatments, this procedure is extremely safe for patients with darker skin tones.
RF microneedling is not recommended for those who have:
- Used Accutane in the last six months
- Open wounds
- Skin infections
- Received radiation treatments within the last year
- A history of keloid scars
- Currently tested positive for pregnancy
How is RF Microneedling Performed?
Before the treatment begins, a member of our team will clean the targeted areas of the face and apply a topical anesthetic to lightly numb the skin. At this point, the Secret™ RF device is gently pressed against the surface of the skin, delivering several dozen pricks that penetrate up to 3 millimeters into the skin. These pricks create tiny micro-channels, which stimulate the body's natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, as well as break down any existing scar tissue. In total, the treatment usually lasts about 20 minutes.
What Can I Expect After RF Microneedling?
The procedure does not destroy the skin's epidermis, which makes the recovery time for RF microneedling much shorter when compared to more aggressive options, such as laser resurfacing treatments and deep chemical peels. Most patients are able to go back to their normal daily activities on the same day. However, it is not uncommon for the treated area to suffer from minor redness, skin dryness, and shedding in the days following the procedure. These side effects should resolve themselves within a week so try to keep that in mind and give your body time to heal when scheduling your appointment for a specific event, like a wedding or holiday party.
